Dolls House Living Room
Living room furniture tends to be quite large in the real world. Likewise real world living rooms are usually the largest room in the house. The doll house living room is not always that large, so I use a miniature love seat as my largest piece. This gives the look of a sofa but doesn't make the living room looked cramped. My first design of dollhouse furniture for the living room is very simple and basic. I tried to emulate a cushioned Sofa (Love Seat) and Chair and still have a simple construction technique.

The entire design, with the exception of the furniture's table tops is created using my original kit of miniature lumber. I do show a method of making the tops using the lumber at hand which actually gives the set a more rustic look. For the fabric I used a cotton with the smallest pattern I could find (from my friend Donna's quilt scraps). You certainly can use a solid fabric, even in two complimentary colors to add a little interest.
Miniature Love Seat ...
Plush, contemporary, and simple in design this set, the Chair and Love Seat, will fit comfortably in most any miniature doll house living room. By changing the fabric you use to cover this dollhouse furniture, the living room will take on a whole new look and feel.
Miniature Plush Chair ...
To make the Love Seat and Chair more plush just add a little padding before the gluing on of the fabric, as discussed in the assembly instructions.
Miniature End Table ...
This miniature end table is again simple in design. When I was a young man my mother had a set similar to these and that's where I got the design concept from. Works great for a set of miniature lamps with a miniature flower on the lower section.
Miniature Round Pedestal Table ...
The miniature pedestal table on the other hand is an original design. Too many end tables, so I felt I could mix it up a little without loosing the decor theme of this particular dolls house living room. I show an underside view so you can see the simple but elegant design.
Miniature Coffee Table ...
If the room is small, opt not to have a coffee table. The same would hold true for only using one end table in a small miniature living room. Personally I would prefer the coffee table and eliminate one end table. It provides table top space for a bunch of little miniature "things".
Miniature Table Lamp...
This miniature table lamp is quite simple in design and could fit into any miniature living room decor. By changing the lamp shade design or color scheme, this little guy can be used in any doll's house room.
Miniature Pole Lamp...
Always room to put a miniature pole lamp. The beauty of this miniature design is that it, like the miniature table lamp above, will fit into just about any dollhouse miniature room.
By staining, light or dark, any of this miniature dollhouse furniture you can make this furniture fit into any setting, such as a dolls house den or playroom. The designs are basic and simple so they can even be painted for a child's bedroom.
