Note that this time we align the top, curved, board to the same distance that resulted from the footboard assembly. The distance from the bottom board to the "floor" will be a little greater then the bottom board on the footboard is to the "floor". This difference is a result of using the tongue depressors as our miniature lumber. The extra space will no show once the mattress is in place and no one will be any the wiser. Miniature Bed Assembly Step 6...Now repeat the process for the second post. As with the footboard we'll hold off placing the trim on until we get the miniature mattress frame completed. This way we can be staining everything at one time. And, as I mentioned in the beginning introduction, if I'm painting this miniature bed, I'll do that after the entire bed is assembled.
