Miniature Dresser Assembly Step 4...
We can now begin to add the trim pieces. I stain these pieces before I assemble them which gives me good clean edges where they meet the rest of the dresser.

So inspect your trim parts and give them a light sanding as you did with the miniature dresser sub-assembly. Wipe them clean and stain away. You might want to do a test fit just before staining just in case you have to sand the trim length a touch to get all the edges to align properly. This is where my sanding block

comes in handy. A small bead of glue across the back of each trim piece, align them to the top and each other and let the glue set. I set the top front trim first and before the glue sets I slide it to align with one of the side trim pieces. Then I put on the second side trim. If the top trim is not perfect, don't panic. You can still touch up the edges with an emery board. Then just wipe a little stain over that edge. But do try to get the test fits correct.
Miniature Dresser Assembly Step 5...
When I set the next "layer" of trim, I use the square to help keep the side trim square and even, as shown in the drawing.

First glue the small vertical trim to the center of the top dresser drawer. Measure for center and place a small pencil mark. If you where careful to sand the ends of the small trim square, you can just use the edge against the top trim to align it square. Now align the long trim across the drawer, holding it parallel to the dresser top. Glue the side trim on aligning as shown in the drawing. Glue the trim across the front. Then repeat the side trim process for the opposite side. Let the glue set for a few extra minutes. Our next steps are complete the addition of all the trim. We won't want the front trim to shift when we apply the two lower vertical trim pieces.
